After 18 years of learning every facet of the restaurant industry, Nejdet Apcin opened his restaurant, The Samdan, in September of 1995.  Located at 178 Piermont Road with an emphasis on Middle Eastern dishes utilizing the freshest offering of the Cresskill region.

Apcin has worked across the country to bring extensive business skills and talent to his restaurant when he acknowledged his passion for food.  Years of hard work and a passion for food have brought Apcin within blocks of his childhood home to open a restaurant that exemplifies his philosophy as a owner: hearty, clean food with integrity that embraces the abundant offerings of the region prepared simply yet thoughtfully.

Apcin's vision of the perfect restaurant extends far beyond the menu.  He chose to build his dream in a mystic area of his hometown, a decision that helped boost the atmosphere of the area into one of the state capital's most desirable destinations.  The restaurant's appealing exterior only hints at the atmosphere within.  The bar is intimate, as are curtained dining booths and private banquet rooms.  The dining room itself is lively yet sophisticated.  A highly trained and dedicated waitstaff provides diners with professional service and personal attention.
